Elaine is passionate about sharing the love of Jesus and helping people discover what it means to grow as disciples of Christ. She loves seeing people flourish in their faith and finding creative ways to make Jesus known in the community.
When she’s not busy serving at church or in the parish, you’ll often find Elaine enjoying the simple pleasures of walking, gardening and spending time with her family.
Elaine’s working days are Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday

Kailean Khongsai - Curate
Kailean is our Curate, bringing a real passion for people, faith and God’s wonderful creation to his ministry at Christ Church.
He cares deeply about caring for creation and encouraging others to appreciate and protect the beautiful world God has entrusted to us.
Music is another big part of Kailean’s life. He loves bringing people together through singing and making music, and he is passionate about seeing our church family reflect the wonderful diversity of God’s people.
And then there’s food! Kailean loves cooking almost as much as he loves eating — so if you find him in the kitchen, there’s a good chance something delicious is happening!
Kailean’s working days are Monday through Thursday and Sundays

Sue Arnold - Churchwarden
Sue is passionate about helping everyone find their place and discover the gifts God has given them. As one of our Churchwardens and the Volunteer Champion at our charity shop, Found, she loves encouraging people to get involved, try something new and find joy in serving others.
Sue also plays an important role in helping to ensure that our church buildings are safe, welcoming and ready to serve our community.
Outside of church life, Sue is married to Dave and loves spending time with her family — especially enjoying the joys of being a grandmother!

Clive Scowen - Licensed Lay Minister
Clive is a Licensed Lay Minister and one of our Churchwardens, bringing a wealth of experience, wisdom and perspective to the life of Christ Church.
As part of the Leadership Team, Clive helps us navigate the legal and governance requirements of church life, ensuring that what we do is both responsible and compliant. He also takes a particular interest in liturgy, worship and developing our partnerships, helping us think creatively about how we grow and serve together.
Beyond Christ Church, Clive is an elected member of the Church of England’s General Synod, contributing to conversations and decisions that shape the wider Church.
Professionally, Clive is a barrister and works as an editor of The Law Reports and The Weekly Law Reports. With his blend of legal expertise, church experience and passion for good governance, Clive helps us keep both our feet firmly on the ground while looking to where God is leading us next.

Carol Sormaz - Children, Families & Community
Carol has been part of the Christ Church family since 2012, when she joined with her husband and son. Since 2019, she has served in her current role, bringing energy, creativity and a real heart for children, families and sharing the love of Christ.
Carol oversees our children’s ministry, leads our work on the Grange Farm Estate, and supports Roxeth Primary School, building relationships and helping Christ Church connect with families across our community.
When she’s not working, Carol enjoys discovering hidden corners of London, getting out and about on new adventures, and spending time in the garden.
Carol’s usual working days are Monday–Thursday and Sundays. She will, however, be taking a sabbatical during September and October 2026.

Barbara Kuekes-Patel - Administrator
Barbara serves part-time as our Administrator and Personal Assistant to the Clergy, helping to keep the many moving parts of church life organised and running smoothly. She is passionate about creating well-organised services, meetings and activities that support and strengthen the mission and ministry of Christ Church.
Outside of her church role, Barbara has recently returned to one of her longstanding passions — ringing handbells! It’s something she enjoyed before moving to the UK in 2019, and she is delighted to be making music with them again.
Barbara is married to Raj and, although they are now making their life in the UK, their family remains very much in her heart, with children and grandchildren living back in the United States.
She loves being part of the Christ Church family and helping create the spaces, opportunities and connections that enable our church community to flourish.
Barbara works Monday through Thursdays 9am - 2pm - which are the church office open hours.
-
Ron Jeeves - Prayer Ministry
Ron has a real passion for connecting with the wider community and seeing lives, relationships and communities renewed. He was originally involved in launching our Found Charity Shop and continues to play an active part in CCR’s missional focus, helping us build meaningful connections across the local community.
Ron loves encouraging and supporting relational initiatives, including Hope Church and discipling workshops, helping people grow in faith and discover what it means to follow Jesus in everyday life.
Outside of church, Ron has grown-up children and recently married Kate. Together, they love socialising, sharing good food and welcoming people into their home. So if you’re lucky enough to receive an invitation to dinner, you know you’re in for a good time!
Ron looks forward to getting to know you — hope to see you soon!

Kate (Penman) Jeeves - Chair of Trustees, found Charity Shop
Kate Jeeves (née Penman) is the Chair of Trustees at Found Charity Shop on Shaftesbury Circle, an important part of Christ Church’s mission in our local community. Founded by Christ Church in 2012, Found is right at the heart of our parish, offering a warm welcome, meaningful connections and an open door to the love of God.
Kate joined the Christ Church family in 2023 and has a real heart for people. She loves seeing others flourish, discover their gifts and become the people God created them to be. Helping people thrive brings her enormous joy!
Kate has two grown-up sons from her first marriage and is a very proud ‘granny far away’ to two grandsons in Australia.
Kate and Ron were married at Christ Church in late 2025 and are enjoying the adventure of bringing their lives together and growing in faith as a couple.
You’ll often find them out walking, enjoying a meal or relaxing in a local pub — so if you spot them, be sure to say hello!

Helen Ellis - Pastoral Care Team Co-Leader
Helen grew up in Sutton Coldfield, where she became a Christian as a teenager through her local Methodist church. At 18, she moved to London to train as a Nurse and Health Visitor, beginning a life of caring for and connecting with people.
During her training, Helen married Will — almost 50 years ago! Together, they have been part of the Christ Church family for 30 years, becoming deeply rooted in the life of the church and local community.
Helen has also spent seven years as a Street Pastor in Harrow, offering a listening ear, practical support and a caring presence to people in the community.
Helen loves meeting and connecting with people, as well as enjoying reading, swimming and trips to the theatre. With her warm heart and genuine interest in others, she is always happy to stop for a chat!
If you see Helen, do say hello — she’d love to meet you!
-
Will Ellis - Pastoral Care Team Co-Leader
Will is married to Helen and, together, they share responsibility for leading Pastoral Care at Christ Church, with a real heart for walking alongside people through all the seasons of life.
Before ‘retiring’, Will worked for many years as a drug research scientist. These days, he enjoys having more time to pursue some of his other passions — including his deep desire to see churches of all traditions across Harrow praying and working together, united in seeking God’s Kingdom.
When he’s not involved in church life, you’ll often find Will enjoying a long cycle ride or singing with a choir.
Will and Helen have three children and six grandchildren, with four of their grandchildren living in South Africa.
Will loves people, community and seeing God’s people working together — so if you see him around Christ Church, stop and say hello!
-
Jessica Richards - Parish Safeguarding Officer
Jessica serves as our Parish Safeguarding Officer, bringing her background in education and safeguarding to help ensure that Christ Church is a place where everyone feels safe, supported, welcomed and included.
Outside of church, life is happily busy with her husband, Alex, their two children, Daniel and Ellie, and their budgie Rickby — who is firmly convinced that he is actually in charge of the household!
Jessica loves getting creative, whether that’s decorating cakes, tackling craft and science projects, exploring the great outdoors, or simply relaxing with a good film.
And she has one very strong opinion: most church meetings are definitely improved by the presence of cake!
Meet the PCC
The Parochial Church Council (PCC) are the governing body of our church. They work together to see that areas of our church life, such as our safeguarding, finances, and buildings, are well looked after.
