We are a Living Sanctuary

What makes a Living Sanctuary?

It’s where God’s Presence, People and Place come together, bringing peace to our lives, our community and creation.

God’s People – relationships that are safe, honest and life-giving.

God’s Place – creation is cared for and shared with the community.

God’s Presence – prayer and worship shapes us from the inside out.

When these meet, we glimpse something of God’s shalom; the peace of Christ made visible.

The Vision

  • Safe relational spaces where everyone can grow.

    • We want to grow a flourishing diversity of smaller groups to meet a wide variety of needs and support leaders well.

    • We’re prioritising safeguarding excellence, racially safer spaces, intercultural expression, intergenerational experience, and a stronger pastoral care network.

    • We aim to share biblical wisdom on conflict, emotional health, and resilience, nurturing healthy singleness, marriage, and parenting.

    • We’re also making our spaces more accessible and welcoming to our wider community.

  • Sustainable living for generations to come.

    • We’re encouraging sustainable lifestyles, both individually and as a church community, guided by the A Rocha EcoChurch award scheme.

    • We want to reclaim our unique green space to bless the local community and create places for rest and connection.

    • In all of this, we point to Jesus as the one who heals and restores all things.

  • Spirit-led prayer and missional disciples.

    • We’re cultivating followers of Jesus who are prepared, confident, and equipped, ready to engage in new worshipping communities.

    • We want to enable people of all backgrounds to encounter God through His Spirit, drawing from both charismatic and contemplative traditions.

    • We’re restoring prayer to the heart of our church, transforming our lower vestry into an inviting space for prayer and retreat.

Who We Are

Christ Church Roxeth is a worshipping community shaped by God’s presence and rooted in prayer and friendship. We’re learning how to live as a living sanctuary; a people and a place of peace, where worship, community and creation come together through Jesus Christ.

We’re committed to listening to God through His Word, the Bible, which we believe is both life-giving and life-shaping.

Our worship holds together both charismatic and contemplative traditions. We value the freedom of the Holy Spirit and the rhythm of Anglican prayer, seeking God in ways that are both expectant and reflective.

We want to nurture healthier relationships with God, with one another, and with the place we’ve been given. That means creating safe and inclusive spaces, caring for creation, and helping one another grow as Spirit-led disciples who bring peace and renewal to our community.

Our Story & Church Planting

Christ Church Roxeth has been part of Harrow’s story for over a century. We are a church rooted in prayer, community, and mission. Through the years, we’ve seen lives transformed, friendships formed, and faith passed down through generations.

Today, we’re part of OneChurch Harrow, a network of local churches working together to see 10% of Harrow come to know Jesus. While our building holds deep history, our heart is for the future. We want to help our Harrow encounter God’s love, find belonging, and grow in faith.
